Calculation method
- 1. Working stock = pallets in per day × dwell days
- 2. Design stock = working × (1 + peak %) × (1 + growth %)
- 3. Required positions = design stock ÷ target occupancy
- 4. Floor area = positions ÷ storage density (pallets/m², by racking type and clear height)
- 5. Dock doors = ⌈(2 × pallets in) ÷ 140⌉; the refrigeration load model then runs on the resulting envelope
Calculations run in SI (m, m², m³, kW, kg, °C). Imperial equivalents: 1 m² = 10.76 ft², 1 m³ = 35.31 ft³, 1 kW = 3,412 BTU/h = 0.284 TR, 1 t = 2,205 lb, °F = °C × 1.8 + 32.
