What affects cold storage project cost?
Warehouse size and clear height, chilled or frozen duty, insulation specification, refrigeration technology and refrigerant, compressor, evaporator and condenser selection, electrical infrastructure, backup power, controls and monitoring, racking, doors and dock equipment, installation, freight and commissioning. Weak-grid or high-ambient sites add generator, condenser and insulation cost.
Why do quotations for the same cold store differ so much?
Because scope differs: one supplier may quote the envelope only, another equipment plus installation, another full EPC including civils, power and commissioning. Redundancy level, panel thickness, control specification and commissioning support are the most common hidden differences. Comparing on a common scope sheet is more useful than comparing headline prices.
