November–January cherry season for China (CNY window) — massive short-window pre-cool capacity in O'Higgins and Maule regions. Design forced-air pre-cool at 3–4 h to 7/8-cool, then export within 48 h. Blueberries and table grapes extend the window Oct–Apr.
Refrigerant & regulation
Chile ratified Kigali, phasing down HFCs. Ministerio de Medio Ambiente promotes natural refrigerants; NH₃ is the industrial default (>300 kW), R290 packaged for smaller loads. CO₂ transcritical gaining share in Santiago metropolitan retail DCs.
