Dual connectivity (LAN + cellular fallback). Store-and-forward for outages. Edge-buffered 30+ days. Cybersecurity: TLS 1.3 minimum, no default passwords, segmented VLAN. Cloud vs on-prem: cloud for multi-site chains, on-prem for GDP single-site with slow validation cycles.
Alarm escalation design
Tiered: warning (5-min delay before dispatch), high (immediate), critical (immediate + escalate). Multi-channel: SMS + call + email + BMS. Escalation ladder with 15-min ack window, then next-on-call. Log every alarm and every acknowledgment for audit.
