Cooling Towers

Industrial cooling towers — open, closed-circuit, adiabatic and hybrid

Open, closed-circuit (fluid coolers), adiabatic and hybrid cooling towers from 100 kW to 50 MW rejection. ColdMatch runs a vendor-neutral RFQ across 100+ audited tower OEMs — benchmarking approach temperature, water/energy trade-off, Legionella compliance (HSG274, ASHRAE 188), footprint and lifecycle cost.

  • Open, closed-circuit, adiabatic and hybrid designs
  • Legionella-compliant (HSG274, ASHRAE 188, VDI 2047)
  • Water-saving and free-cooling operating modes
  • GRP, stainless and hot-dip galvanised construction

FAQ

Cooling Towers — frequently asked

Open or closed-circuit tower?

Open towers are cheapest and most efficient but the process water is exposed — used for condenser cooling. Closed-circuit towers keep the process fluid clean and are mandatory for glycol loops, food and pharma.

How do I stay Legionella-compliant?

Follow HSG274 (UK), ASHRAE 188 (US) or VDI 2047 (DE): weekly dip-slides, monthly Legionella tests, biocide dosing, drift eliminators, and full risk assessment. ColdMatch specs this into every RFQ.

Is an adiabatic (dry/wet hybrid) tower worth the premium?

In water-scarce or high-tariff regions — yes. Adiabatic towers run dry most of the year and only spray on peak days, cutting water use 60–90% vs an open tower.

How fast can ColdMatch source cooling towers?

Standard packaged towers quote in 2–3 weeks; large field-erected towers 6–10 weeks. We brief shortlisted OEMs within 48 hours.
