Air handling units (AHUs) — commercial, industrial, hygienic and clean-room
Draw-through and blow-through AHUs from 1,000 to 200,000 m³/h — with coils, filters, humidifiers, heat recovery wheels and EC fan arrays. ColdMatch runs a vendor-neutral RFQ across 100+ audited AHU manufacturers, benchmarking SFP, EUROVENT class, EN 1886 leakage and lifecycle cost.
- EUROVENT-certified, EN 1886 leakage class
- EC plug-fan arrays, heat wheels, run-around coils
- Hygienic and GMP clean-room AHUs (VDI 6022, EN 1946)
- Custom, modular and packaged rooftop units

Air Handling Units — frequently asked
Custom AHU or packaged rooftop unit?
Below ~15,000 m³/h and standard air quality, packaged rooftop units usually win on install cost and lead time. Above that, or for hygienic / clean-room duty, custom AHUs allow the right coil rows, filtration stages, heat recovery and casing class.
What EUROVENT / EN 1886 class should I specify?
Commercial offices: casing L2, thermal T3, thermal-bridge TB3 is a reasonable baseline. Hospitals and pharma: L1, T2, TB2 with EPA/HEPA filtration and hygienic construction (VDI 6022, EN 1946).
Is a heat recovery wheel always worth it?
In climates with meaningful heating hours and dense fresh-air demand, yes — payback is typically 2–4 years. Skip only where fresh-air ratio is very low or hygienic segregation forbids cross-contamination (use run-around coils instead).
How fast can ColdMatch source AHUs?
A structured brief goes to shortlisted OEMs within 48 hours. Standard AHU packages typically quote in 1–2 weeks; custom hygienic AHUs 3–4 weeks.
