How does ColdMatch choose which suppliers to introduce?

A ColdMatch specialist first reviews your request and prepares a project brief. We then shortlist from 100+ refrigeration technology and equipment partners by project fit: technology and capacity range, temperature regime, experience in your sector, presence or service support in your region, and references on similar projects. Introductions are made manually, never automatically.

How many suppliers will I be introduced to?

Usually a small shortlist, typically two to four, so each proposal gets proper attention. The number depends on how specialised the project is and how many suppliers can genuinely serve your location.

Are suppliers paid to be recommended?

Accepted Answer

Supplier fit is based on the project brief. ColdMatch does not manufacture, sell or install equipment, and the buyer keeps the final decision on which supplier, if any, to contract.

How long does the procurement stage take?

Once the brief is agreed, collecting and comparing proposals typically takes 2–6 weeks, depending on project complexity and how quickly site data and clarifications are provided.

How long from request to a working cold store?

Accepted Answer

For most industrial projects, 6–12 months is realistic: 2–6 weeks for proposals, 8–16 weeks manufacture, 4–10 weeks shipping and clearance for imported equipment, then 4–10 weeks installation and commissioning. Civil works and permits can add time.

What delays projects most often?

Accepted Answer

Incomplete design data (daily intake, product inlet temperature, maximum outdoor temperature), late site or power information, changes to scope after quoting, import documentation and shipping frequency to the destination port.

Who does the buyer pay?

Accepted Answer

The buyer pays the selected supplier or contractor directly under the contract they sign together. ColdMatch does not receive, hold or transfer project payments.

Question 8

What payment terms are typical for refrigeration equipment?

Accepted Answer

As general guidance, suppliers often ask for a deposit of around 30–40% on order, further payments on milestones such as shipment or delivery, and a final balance on commissioning, sometimes with 5–10% retention until performance is proven. Actual terms are negotiated between buyer and supplier.

Are letters of credit or financing available?

Accepted Answer

Letters of credit are common for imported equipment and are arranged between the buyer's bank and the supplier. Neither ColdMatch nor Global B2B Group lends money or gives financial advice; qualified projects may be introduced to independent financing partners.
