For commercial and industrial refrigeration projects (cold rooms, cold stores, process cooling) — not household fridges, home freezers or appliance repair. Results are planning estimates, not engineering design or safety advice; a qualified refrigeration engineer must confirm sizing before purchase.
Cold Storage Electrical Supply Estimator
Short answer: add up the electrical power of your refrigeration equipment, decide how much runs at the same time, convert to kVA with a power factor and add spare capacity. The result is an indicative supply size (kVA and amps) to discuss with your electrical engineer and utility before you request quotes — not a design or a utility application.
| Equipment | Electrical power (kW) | Share running at once (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Compressors | ||

Send these power needs with your RFQ
This opens the request form with your equipment loads, the indicative supply size, and any room size and temperature you entered above already filled in. You review everything and submit it yourself — nothing is sent automatically. ColdMatch reviews every request manually and introduces suitable suppliers; projects start at USD 250,000.
Send these details to my RFQHow it is calculated
Running kW = Σ (equipment kW × share running at once). kVA = running kW ÷ power factor. Supply to request = kVA × (1 + spare margin). Line current = kVA × 1,000 ÷ (√3 × voltage).
Not included: compressor motor starting current, harmonics from variable-speed drives, cable sizing, protection settings, standby generator sizing and utility tariff rules. These change the final connection and must be checked by a qualified electrical engineer and your utility.
