What insulation panel thickness does a cold room need?

PIR or PUR panels of 80–100 mm are commonly used for chiller rooms and 120–150 mm for freezer rooms; thicker panels may be specified in very hot climates. The supplier's heat-load calculation should confirm the choice.

Monobloc unit or split system?

A monobloc unit is simpler to install and suits smaller rooms. A split system suits larger rooms and lets the condenser sit outside the building, away from the heat inside.

Why does the door type matter?

Doors with heated frames, plus air curtains or PVC strip curtains, reduce warm-air entry and ice build-up — especially when the door is opened often.
